WHAT IS THE REAL MEANING OF SUCCESS?
How do you define success? Are you successful when you’ve reached your career goals? Financial goals? Are you successful when you have raised your kids, given them an education, and paid for their weddings? How about when you can retire with no financial worries?
Everyone has a different way to define success. Yet, why do so many individuals feel sometimes that their life is a failure?
Here are some tips to help you achieve success, whatever that means to you:
Always set new goals: Successful people are guided by their goals. They plan their day the night before with a list. Successful people think long-term. They have daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals. But what is a goal without a plan to achieve it? Make sure you think of different options to achieve your goals.
Do things in moderation: You will have a balanced life if you do activities in moderation. This means that there must be a balance between exercising, eating, working, consuming alcohol, watching television, being on the internet, etc. A balanced life is a successful life.
Keep a positive attitude: Successful people direct their thoughts and emotions. As soon as bad thoughts come in, push away anything that challenges your ability to succeed. Try not to obsess over negative notions. Successful people think positive things because they want to keep improving.
Do not give up: Don't give up when the going gets tough, you may have to change direction but continue to move on.
Show gratitude: If you are not grateful you are not being fully aware of the good things in life, and your perspective is probably skewed to a negative outcome, to the point where you can become discouraged from looking for good things. We tend to think of gratitude as a spontaneous emotion, something that just happens to us in moments of triumph or success, but in reality gratitude is something that unfolds.
Learn to adapt: Success is not about avoiding failure, but about learning from it. Instead of hiding from failure, successful people anticipate and integrate failure into their lives, thus transforming what seems like an end to a means.
Success is in your ability to appreciate what you have, to find satisfaction in everything you do, and to feel happy at every moment, without depending on the recognition of others. 💛
